The D365 Finance Configuration Extractor (version 1.0.0) is a browser extension that helps Dynamics 365 Finance users extract and compare configuration data across legal entities. This is the first public release of the extension. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is handled.
Data we do not collect
This extension does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data or usage information. Specifically:
- No data is sent to any external server or third party.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting is collected.
- No account credentials or authentication tokens are accessed or stored.
- No personally identifiable information (PII) is processed beyond what is visible on the Dynamics 365 page you are actively viewing.
Data accessed locally
The extension reads configuration data (such as legal entity settings, parameters, and table values) directly from your Dynamics 365 Finance environment — solely within your browser session and only on pages you navigate to. This data:
- Is processed entirely on your local device.
- Is exported to files (Excel, CSV, JSON) saved directly to your computer via the browser’s native download mechanism.
- Is never uploaded, transmitted, or cached outside your browser.
Permissions explained
- activeTab — read the currently active Dynamics 365 tab to extract configuration data.
- storage — save user preferences (e.g. selected columns, export settings) locally in your browser.
- downloads — save exported files (Excel / CSV / JSON) to your computer.
All permissions are scoped exclusively to *.dynamics.com and *.onmicrosoft.com domains. The extension does not operate on any other website.
Third-party services
This extension does not integrate with or transmit data to any third-party service, analytics platform, or advertisement network.
Children’s privacy
This extension is intended for business use by Dynamics 365 Finance professionals. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from minors.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. The “Last updated” date below reflects the most recent revision.
